It began in 2001 when Mark Baldwin finally acquired
a pair of turntables and a shoddy mixer. Seeing as
he's gayer than a three dollar bill, he obviously
chose the style of electronic music known as happy
hardcore. This protégé's stage name
you ask? Gayboi. Drawing from such inspirations as
Mike Hemp, SMiRK (amazing dj, by the way), among other
hardcore djs. Continually playing raves throughout
the Bay Area getting more and more attention, his
happy branding was suddenly scraped away the moment
he stepped into a studio. Wanting to remake one of
the hardcore classics (Human Resource's "Dominator")
with his own blend of intense hatred for minorities,
the happy community ultimately shunned him from the
inner circle.
His remix of "Dominator," which was aptly
named "N****r Hater" (I'm bigger and blacker
where my newports and lighter in other words sucker
the noose is tighter. I'm the one and only N****r
hater) sold only 10 copies and thus Gayboi went even
more underground and studied his heritage.
It was late one night in 2003 when Mark found what
he was looking for. He discovered that, in the old
days, gabber raves were often fueled by racism...
And so a new gabber dj was born.
